Proud Winners Of The Bristol & South West Property Awards
Fox Davidson were delighted to win the Finance category at the Bristol Property Awards alongside Best Funding Team at the South West Property Awards.
The awards recognised a good trading year, innovation and our ability to adapt quickly to changes to the way we work due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Fox Davidson have been a leading Bristol Mortgage broker since they launched in 2013.
Based in offices in BS1, Fox Davidson arrange property finance for clients including first-time buyers buying their first home, property developers that need funding to renovate, convert or build property from the ground up and work with businesses wishing to finance commercial property as an investment or for their own business occupation.
We have a strong focus on Bristol, Somerset, Devon and Cornwall and are working with clients to fund often complex situations across the South West.
Bristol Property Awards
The Bristol Property Awards are the leading property awards in Bristol and recognise the very best property professionals across Bristol including those working in legal, finance, property developers, and architects.
To win the award Fox Davidson saw off competition from banks, mortgage lenders and mortgage brokers.
The judges commented:
“Monumental achievement helping over 500 clients secure finance of over £150 million. Also record revenue and profit numbers. Strong year.”
South West Property Awards
The South West Property Awards recognise companies working within the property sector across the South West from Bristol to Devon and Cornwall.
Fox Davidson director Sarah Fox-Clinch commented:
“To win the award for property funding team of the year is an incredible achievement. Fox Davidson were up against major names in the property funding sector including Lloyds and Paragon. To win the award and be recognised above these lending giants is testament to the hard work and innovation we bring to funding residential and commercial property in the South West.”
While the usual awards ceremony was unable to take place due to Covid-19 restrictions, Fox Davidson and the other winners were announced on the Insider Media website earlier this month.
The judges’ panel said they were impressed by our achievements in “unlocking key sites of different scales and dealing with [the] complexities of funding arrangements for non-standard users”.
We were also praised for our contributions to the local community in the South West: “[Fox Davidson] was clearly focused on the region and judges were impressed by the way it invested back into the community”.
As challenging as the past year was, we’re proud of our team and would like to thank our clients for helping us earn this fantastic achievement.
Bristol Life Awards
We’re pleased to announce that Fox Davidson has been shortlisted as finalists in the Bristol Life Awards 2021 in the Financial category, following our shortlisting in 2020.
The Bristol Life Awards are the business highlight of the city, celebrating the best of the best in Bristol, with a vast number of local companies involved.
The finalists have been selected by an independent panel of judges and the winners will be announced at an official ceremony at Ashton Gate Stadium on 16th September 2021.
It’s such an honour to be recognised in this year’s Financial category after what has been something of a challenging year for businesses across Bristol and the rest of the UK.
We’re proud to be featured alongside other esteemed businesses in the financial sector in Bristol, and wish the very best of luck to all the other amazing finalists.

Coronavirus Changes
The business has had to adapt due to the 2020 pandemic and immediately offered all staff the option of working from home.
Wesley Davidson, joint director of Fox Davidson, said:
“The working from home model has been really popular with all of our staff. The time and money saved on travel and expenses have been of a real benefit for all the team as well as the company. We have retained our offices in Bristol, Bath, Exeter and London and use the offices to meet clients as needed but most of our business is now completed using phone and email and it is working really well.”
The Bristol Property Market
According to Hometrack which tracks the top 20 UK cities, the average property price in Bristol is now £293,700.
This puts Bristol in 5th spot behind London, Oxford, Cambridge and Bournemouth.
Buying a home in Bristol is not cheap and with 95% mortgages now available a home buyer would need an income of approximately £55,000 to purchase a property with just a 5% deposit.
The pandemic has influenced the type of property our clients are buying.
We have seen a noticeable change in the type of property that people are looking to purchase with many clients now looking to purchase property with plenty of space.
Property on the outskirts of the city in areas such as Abbots Leigh, the Gordano valley, and south of the city hot spots such as Wrington and Chew Magna are in high demand.
The shift in people working from home has meant that people do not need to be based in the middle of the city as they do not need to travel for work as much.
